Dear Wheat and Barley Growers,

Prior to the invasion of stripe rust our wheat was the best I have ever seen. It was then, “fruit basket upset!” Every variety got hit.
Some resistant varieties got hit just as hard as some nonresistant varieties. I think that means we have some new races of rust.
That may mean we better be prepared to use fungicides more extensively than we have in the past, regardless of the variety planted!?!?
Even so, the wheat still filled miraculously well from the stem. Our wheat yield range was 32.0 to 118.4 BPA, with an average of 75.3 BPA.
The barley range from 41.1 BPA TO 123.3 BPA, with an average of 95.6 BPA. Barley is more resistant than wheat to the rust diseases.
We carry most of the most popular wheat varieties for the Western High Plains.

Remember: Good Seed Is Paramount!
